Tim Betz (MA, History, 2017) was recently hired as the Executive Director of the Morgan Log House, a historic site located in Lansdale, PA. The site was the home of the maternal grandparents of Daniel Boone and was later owned by conscientious objectors during the American Revolution.
He also is having his Lehigh History MA thesis, which he completed under María Bárbara Zepeda Cortés, in the upcoming issue of Hemisphere: Journal of Visual Culture in the Americas. The article, entitled “Better than Seeing Fairy Tales: Contextualizing Curation in the Iberian Atlantic,” explores the ways in which Spanish collections of curiosities, as well the imperial collecting and illustrated texts, created a visual framework for the Spanish to show the empire throughout its existence. Additionally, he is working on two forthcoming essays for the Encyclopedia of Greater Philadelphia.
