During the fall semester 2016, graduate student Galina Hanley traveled to her home country of Australia to visit the State Library of Victoria in Melbourne. Galina explains that writing a dissertation on the place of Anzac Day in contemporary Australian culture while living in Bethlehem has had its limitations. Although sources are increasingly available online, many of the newspapers she requires are only available on microfilm. While in Melbourne, she was able to collect materials from three major newspapers across a fifteen-year period, as well as gain access to the library's online collections for future research. More information on Anzac day can be found here.
